April Mensik Design Team Member Howdy! My name is April Mensik. I am a 28 year old student/wife/dog momma. I am currently studying graphic arts and photography at a tiny college in East Texas. My husband I have lived here for almost two years and are counting the days til he retires and we can move “home” to College Station! HA! Kevin and I have been married for almost three years now and I still wake up every morning and am amazed that I am married to my best friend. While I ache to be a mommy (to something other than dogs) I feel truly blessed with the life I have right now. Our life is very simple, and I truly couldn’t ask for more. When I sat down to write my bio for Molly, I asked Kevin what I should tell y’all about myself. His response? “Be prepared to see a lot of pictures of her husband and dogs” I’d say that pretty much sums me up! ;) Scrapbooking combines my two greatest passions----photography and writing. Through scrapbooking, I am able to express my love for the people in my life. have so many questions about the family members I’ve lost and feel like scrapbooking is my way of preventing those unanswered questions about me for the future generations. I want my great grandchildren to know about my insecurities and my battle with depression, and how I’ve fought to overcome it all. I want them to know that I married one of the last fairy tale princes and that marrying your best friend is the only way to go. I see a future with many fur-babies in our lives, and want my grandchildren to know how much Sam and Sully filled our lives with love and silliness. I am blessed to be on three design teams, and enjoy the work I do for each team. I am quite honored to be a part of the SDD design team. When Molly introduced herself to me at CKU-Boston, I felt like I’d found a long lost friend. Molly is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met in my life and I look forward to helping her grow this amazing site! The girls on this team are such a dynamic mix of styles and lives and I feel very blessed to be a part of it! username: ~April~
