This is a photo taken at our fifth grade Westward Movement Day about 6 years ago. My layout is inspired by Janelle's most recent sketch from her Sketch This! blog. Journaling reads:
So what do you do when you're all grown up and you still don't know what you want to be when you grow up? You take the "Career Development" course at Montgomery College with your mom, who also doesn't know what she wants to be when she grows up. And you sit in that class for six weeks and take a bunch of aptitude tests and personality questionnaires and interest surveys, and in the end you find out that you're best suited to be a truck driver or a musician or some other equally bizarre occupation. So you're walking back to your car after your last class, totally perplexed, wondering why it cost you $130.00 and six weeks of your time to find out that you should be a guitar-playing trucker when your mom asks, "Have you ever considered being a teacher?" And it's like this grand flash in your head--you can just picture yourself standing in front of a classroom full of ten-year-olds, surrounded by books, making learning fun, and all of a sudden, you know that being a teacher is EXACTLY what you want to be when you grow up.
Materials:
Wild Asparagus, Love, Elsie, and Making Memories patterned papers
Heidi Swapp chipboard letters
Basic Grey chipboard corner
Lil Davis chipboard star
Making Memories paint and Wordfetti
Stamp from The IT Kit
Arial Narrow font
Excellent. I love your journaling. AND I need to get my sewing machine out for scrapping again. I have been doing small sewing projects that I really don't enjoy, but maybe I would mind the sewing if it were for scrapping.
