Description:
Sorry about the not-so-good scan. This one is really lumpy!
Another LO from my Hawaii trip from long ago. It's a mish-mash of lots of stuff: Bazzill cardstock, Eco-Africa that I modified, other beads and stuff from my stash, the fuzzy trim across the middle is from Wal-Mart. Journaling is on a card on the back and says:
"Towards the end of my vacation Sarita and her friends put on a “semi-luau” in my honor. (Semi-luau because there was no roasted pork.) Someone’s brother was a fisherman so freshly caught ahi was bbq’ed along with chicken. They knew I wasn’t much of a fish eater so I think they were out to convert me. On of the guys picked up a chunk of ahi from the grill with his fingers, dipped in a sauce and then fed it to me! They all made me feel so special.
The party was at Reuben’s house which used to be a 2-story until the last bad hurricane blew through. It’s now a one story surfer shank. At the time, he was living there rent-free because he acted as manager for several other “shacks”.
What a wonderful, care-free day that was. After all these years, it still ranks as one of my most memorable times."

Oops!
I forgot to mention the lizard! A friend gave me a great book on "papel picado" which is a type of Mexican folkart done by cutting tissue paper. The lizard was a pattern in the book so I scanned him, printed him on the back side of some mottled green paper and cut him out. I used some Distress Ink to darken him a bit and pop-dotted him over some brown fibrous Eco-Africa paper.
